When you train, your bra trains with you. Activewear bras are not an afterthought in your gym bag — they are the foundation of every rep, every sprint, and every stretch. At Amour Secrt, our activewear bra collection is designed for women who take their movement seriously and refuse to compromise on how they look and feel while doing it. From high-impact compression fits to breathable racerback styles, every piece is engineered to support your body through whatever your session demands,
Most women spend time choosing the right leggings and the right shoes, then grab any bra and head out. The truth is, your workout bra does more physical work than any other piece of clothing you wear to train. Breast tissue is supported by Cooper's ligaments — fine connective structures that do not regenerate once overstretched. Without a purpose-built sports bra for gym sessions, repetitive multi-directional movement causes cumulative strain that builds up silently over time.
Beyond long-term support, the right exercise bra manages sweat through moisture-wicking fabric, prevents chafing with flat seam construction, allows your shoulders to move through their full range, and keeps everything exactly in place so your mind stays on your training instead of your innerwear. A regular bra cannot do any of this. A well-chosen gym bra does all of it without you noticing it once.
The single most important decision when choosing an activewear bra is matching the support level to what your body is actually doing. Low-impact sessions like yoga, stretching, and walking need flexibility and softness over compression. Medium-impact training like dance, cycling, and barre needs moderate structure with room to breathe. High-impact sessions like running, HIIT, CrossFit, and circuit training demand full compression fit, a wide firm band, and moisture-wicking fabric that works as hard as you do.
The rule every fitness expert agrees on is simple. When you are unsure which impact level to go for, always choose higher. An over-supported bra during a lighter session is comfortable. An under-supported bra during an intense one is a problem that compounds with every session.
Our high-impact sports bra for gym training is built for the sessions where you push your limits. Full compression fit holds breast tissue firmly in all three directions simultaneously — up and down, side to side, and forward and back. A wide underband provides the structural base that keeps everything stable when your body is moving fast. Reinforced non-slip straps stay exactly where you set them through burpees, box jumps, sprints, and heavy lifting. Moisture-wicking nylon-spandex fabric pulls sweat away from the skin and disperses it quickly so you stay dry and comfortable for the full duration of your session.
The racerback is not just a design choice — it is a functional upgrade for anyone who trains with their arms. Our racerback workout bra draws the straps inward toward the spine, opening up the shoulder blades and allowing full overhead mobility without strap interference. This configuration also distributes the load across the upper back more evenly than parallel straps, reducing shoulder fatigue during longer sessions. The breathable mesh panels at the back make this the go-to choice for any activity where shoulder and arm freedom directly affects your performance.
Compression fit works by pressing breast tissue against the chest wall and reducing movement across the board. Our compression active bra styles create a streamlined, athletic silhouette that sits flat under any activewear top without bulk or shifting. Flat seam construction eliminates every potential friction point, making this the right choice for women who train in tight-fitting tops and need a bra that completely disappears underneath. Quick-dry technical fabric means you stay comfortable from warm-up to cool-down.
Every seam is a potential pressure point, and when you are mid-session in close-fitting activewear, even a small ridge can become a major irritation. Our seamless athletic bra is knitted as a single continuous piece of fabric, eliminating edges, ridges, and contact points entirely. The second-skin fit moves with your body rather than against it, and moisture-wicking yarn manages sweat without adding any weight or bulk. This is the style that makes women say they forgot they were wearing a bra — and in training, that is exactly the point.
Not every session is a high-intensity effort, and your innerwear should reflect that without making you change your entire wardrobe. Our low-impact active bra styles are wire-free, soft-cupped, and built from four-way stretch fabric that moves freely through yoga flows, Pilates sequences, walking sessions, and active recovery work. Breathable cotton-spandex blends keep you cool and comfortable during lighter movement, and the relaxed fit means you can wear this from your morning stretch through the rest of your day without a second thought.
Moisture-Wicking Fabric That Keeps Pace With Your Sweat Sweating during training is inevitable and healthy. What matters is how your bra handles it. Moisture-wicking fabric in a quality gym bra pulls sweat away from the skin surface and spreads it across a larger area of the fabric where it evaporates quickly. This keeps the skin dry, regulates your body temperature, and prevents the chafing and heat rashes that cotton-based fabrics cause once they become saturated. Look for nylon-spandex, polyester-spandex, or technical microfiber blends when choosing your fitness bra.
High-Impact Support That Matches Your Training Support level determines how well your activewear bra actually protects you during movement. Too little compression allows the bounce and strain that damages Cooper's ligaments over time. Too much restricts your breathing and circulation. The right compression level for your cup size and your workout intensity is the factor that makes the biggest difference to both comfort and long-term breast health in every session you complete.
Breathable Fabric Construction for Temperature Control Moisture-wicking and breathability are related but different things. A breathable activewear bra allows air to move through the fabric structure itself — through mesh panels at the back, perforated cups, or open-knit construction in low-stress zones. This active ventilation regulates your core temperature during intense training, keeping you cooler for longer and reducing the fatigue that comes from overheating in the second half of a hard session.
Racerback and Non-Slip Straps for Full Movement Freedom Strap slippage is the most common complaint women have with activewear bras, and it is almost always a design failure rather than a sizing problem. Quality workout bra straps are wide enough to distribute shoulder load, designed to grip without digging, and adjustable enough to be set at the exact tension your training needs. Racerback configurations solve slippage entirely for most high-movement training by anchoring the straps to a fixed central point.
Flat Seam Construction That Eliminates Friction Standard sewn seams create a small raised edge that becomes a friction point under repetitive movement. During a 45-minute training session, that edge can cause significant skin irritation on the ribcage, under the arms, and across the shoulder straps. Quality exercise bras use flat-lock stitching or fully bonded construction that sits completely flush against the skin — no ridges, no rubbing, no marks, and no distraction from what you came to do.
Different fabrics perform very differently during exercise, and understanding what your training bra is made from tells you a great deal about how it will feel and function during a session.

One important note on cotton. It feels gentle against unworn skin, but once saturated with sweat it becomes heavy, slow to dry, and prone to causing chafing during extended sessions. For any training above low-impact, a synthetic-blend activewear bra will consistently outperform pure cotton in both comfort and durability.
An activewear bra that does not fit correctly will not support correctly, regardless of how well it is designed. The fit check for a training bra is also slightly different to a regular bra because the band does significantly more work once you start moving.
To find your band size, measure around your ribcage directly under the bust and round to the nearest even number. Your activewear bra band should feel noticeably firmer than your everyday bra band — without straps as your primary load-bearing structure during movement, the band carries almost everything.
For cup size, measure around the fullest part of your bust and subtract your band measurement. One inch difference equals an A cup, two inches a B cup, three inches a C cup, four a D cup, and five a DD cup.
Once the bra is on, do not just stand still. Jump. Raise both arms overhead. Bend forward. Any significant bounce, strap slippage, or band that rides up tells you the support level or the size needs adjustment. Our activewear bras are available from 30A to 44DD — refer to the size guide on each product page for style-specific guidance.
Performance fabric needs performance-level care to maintain its moisture-wicking, compression, and shape properties through regular training use.
Wash your workout bra after every single wear. Sweat, skin oils, and body products degrade elastic fibres and moisture-wicking coatings when left unwashed. The more frequently you train, the faster an unwashed bra loses the properties that made it worth buying.
Always wash in cold water on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Hot water destroys spandex fibres. A mesh bag prevents straps and hooks from snagging on other items. Use a mild, low-suds detergent — heavy detergents leave residue inside technical fabrics that blocks breathability over time.
Never tumble dry. Heat is the single fastest way to destroy elastic recovery in activewear fabric. Always lay flat or hang to air dry away from direct sunlight. Never use fabric softener either — it coats the fibres of moisture-wicking fabric and fills the channels responsible for sweat transport. Your bra may feel temporarily softer, but it will perform significantly worse from that point forward.
Rotate a minimum of three gym bras regularly. Elastic needs 24 to 48 hours to fully recover its compression after being stretched through a training session. Rotating three or more bras keeps each one performing at its best for far longer than wearing the same one repeatedly.
A regular bra is designed for stillness — to look and feel good while you stand, sit, and move through everyday life at a gentle pace. An activewear bra is engineered for movement — with compression fit that controls breast motion in multiple directions, moisture-wicking fabric that manages sweat actively, flat seam construction that prevents friction, and structural elements that maintain their integrity through repeated dynamic movement. The two categories share a name but almost nothing else.
The best sports bra for gym use depends entirely on what you are doing in that gym. For weight training and functional fitness involving overhead movements, a high-impact racerback style with non-slip straps is the most practical choice. For cardio, running, and HIIT, full compression with a firm band is what actually controls bounce and protects breast tissue. For yoga or Pilates spaces within the gym, a seamless or low-impact style gives you the flexibility that compression would restrict.
The most reliable test is the jump test. Put your bra on and jump continuously for 30 seconds. If you feel significant bounce or movement during that time, the support level is not sufficient for high-impact training. Some movement during lower-impact activity is normal and acceptable. For running and HIIT, breast tissue should feel held firmly and stably throughout. If you feel your band moving up your ribcage while jumping, the band size is too large.
Compression fit means the bra holds breast tissue firmly against the chest wall by applying even pressure across the cups rather than encapsulating each breast in a separate structured cup. This reduces movement in all three directions and creates the flat, athletic silhouette you see under most fitted activewear tops. Compression fit works most effectively for A through C cup sizes. Women with D cup and above often find that encapsulation styles — with separately structured cups — provide more comfortable high-impact support during longer sessions.
Many women do, and seamless medium-compression styles are genuinely comfortable enough for full-day wear beyond training. High-compression styles built specifically for intense exercise may feel too restrictive for relaxed sitting and desk work. If you want one bra that takes you from morning training to evening plans, look for a seamless active bra with medium impact support, breathable fabric, and soft flat construction. It bridges the gap between performance and all-day comfort most effectively.
Every six to twelve months with regular training use, or sooner if the band feels loose on the tightest hooks, the straps have permanently stretched, or the fabric no longer wicks moisture away from your skin effectively. The easiest way to check is to compare how the bra feels now versus how it felt in the first two weeks of wearing it. If the support feels noticeably reduced, the bra has done its job well — and it is time to replace it.
